Here at Clifton Down Dental Practice, we have lots of experience in treating nervous patients and use various techniques to help reduce anxiety including intravenous sedation.
Intravenous sedation involves administering a drug which makes you feel very relaxed and not fully aware of what is going on around you; however you will still be able to communicate with the dentist. Most people have little or no memory of the treatment afterwards.
You will require someone to take you home afterwards and should rest for approximately 12 hours after treatment.
Sedation is available for a variety of dental treatments and this can be discussed with your dentist, or any member of the Practice team, at your consultation appointment.
