We are really pleased to report that since opening on 10th June we have been able to see many of our patients who have been in pain and discomfort during lockdown. The extensive changes we have made to our standard operating procedure to improve patient safety have been implemented well and has been appreciated by all our patients who have attended the practice.
In keeping with the guidance from the Chief Dental Officer and other professional bodies, we are currently still treating patients who have dental problems, such as pain or infections, that cannot be dealt with by other means. Since our last email, the general threat level of the pandemic has dropped to level 3 which has meant some more essential treatment may slowly be introduced as our phased return to routine care continues.
We have introduced the hygienists back to work to enable patients who are high risk of gum disease to be seen to prevent future problems. If you are having any gum related problems, please contact the practice and one of our dentists will assess your situation prior to making an appointment with the hygienists.
We are constantly adapting our standard operating procedures as more evidence is released and guidance is amended. We are still currently booking on a week-week basis and still adhering to social distancing and our professional guidelines.
If you are due to have a routine or non-urgent appointment, we will be contacting you as appointment slots are made available, and it is deemed appropriate to carry out the treatment you require. We will be rearranging your appointments that have been booked in July so please do not attend unless your appointment has been confirmed by our reception team over the phone.
If you have an emergency please do call the practice. Your dentist will be able to give you advice and offer an appointment if needed to resolve your dental problem.
We thank you for all your support through these difficult times and we can’t wait to see you all.
